Heparin Therapy for Hypercoagulation
Hypercoagulation is very common in patients who have complex chronic illness. Hypercoagulation or thick blood interferes with proper blood flow, oxygen and nutrient delivery to tissues, and the removal of toxins from tissues. Poor blood flow contributes to fatigue, pain, muscle aches, and a general feeling of malaise. This is the result of chronic infection, inflammation, and immune activation that causes fibrin to accumulate in the vessels.
Sublingual heparin therapy can alleviate hypercoagulation by lowering the levels of:
- fibrinogen
- fibrin
- thrombin / antithrombin complexes
- fragment 1 & 2
- Factor II activity
We can help you achieve better health through measuring coagulation factors such as INR, PT, PTT, D dimer, plasminogen activating inhibitor, Fragment 1 & 2, Protein C, Protein S, etc…by using sublingual heparin to thin the blood. Monthly monitoring of your INR, PT and PTT will be done to insure proper blood flow. Generally patients feel much better with Heparin therapy as blood flow increases to tissues and allows for proper functioning.
